So after 5051 days on Deviant Art I've finally figured out how useful a tool llamas are. Yes that is a long @$$ time to go with out understanding something on an artwork networking site, but since we are talking about llamas and not donkeys, I digress.
I remember receiving my first llama and being extremely excited! "OOOH A BADGE! WHAT DO I GET? WHAT CAN I EARN?!" In the end I just shrugged, and resigned to be perplexed on the whole thing.
*Some Time Later*
I eventually received enough llamas and my llama was upgraded to a super llama. This peaked my interest again in the llama mystery. I googled, and found out what llama levels there were and given a broad explanation of how to get llamas "Be a contributing member of the DA community."
Well after playing around a bit I kind have figured out how to use these beloved camelid . The following is a quick rundown of how I the Sir use llamas!
1) Llamas Are Encouraging: Getting a llama, can feel good, to know someone stopped by your gallery, and enjoyed it enough (or at least appreciate your presence on DA) to let you know through the gift of a fuzzy llama.
A) Knowing how it feels to get a llama, you can understand how giving a llama communicates to fellow members.
2) Llama Karma: It seems common when getting a llama to give a llama, though the practice is common its not necessary and there doesn't seem to be any backlash for not returning a llama... so far!
3) Llamatation:: Llamas can let an artist know that you popped by their gallery as previously stated, but they can also be an invite to that artist to come check out your gallery.
A) I've had a lot of success with this, giving llamas and having people come by to fav, watch, or compliment my work.
4) Llama Quest: I've been on a llama quest recently. Going to the main page clicking a random artist and giving them a llama. This has been rewarding for 2 reasons
A) I've gotten a lot more traffic on my page going from a dozen views a day to 100s of views.
B) I have discovered quite the trove of talented artists that I now follow that for one reason or another don't pop up on the hot page.
5) Llama Trades: So llamas can also be traded for points in your badges section. Simple as that, and then you can use points to buy prints, or even getting a premium subscription.
6) Llama Secret: I have a theory that llamas effect your overall analytics. Have I proof? Nay, but things have changed since I've started rapidly accumulating llamas. The other day I looked at a paper clip and it moved ever so slightly, I've been getting llama cards in the mail, and finally I looked at my cat and he suddenly lost all balance and fell over.
I hope this helps anyone who takes a glance at it. Remember cut off a llamas head and... well it dies. Jesus, why would anyone do that?!

The Resource Known as Patreon
Greetings and salutations!!!
I wanted to turn you guys onto a resource the small comic company I run with DimitriosFragiskatos (https://www.deviantart.com/dimitriosfragiskatos) & HarperArsenal (https://www.deviantart.com/harperarsenal) have begun to use.
Our comic company has expenses as any company or artist does. Website costs, advertising, convention costs, and (what is often neglected) pay for any work we've done to for our company. We weren't sure how to meet these constant costs, and for a long time these expenses came out of our own pockets.
Finally we found Patreon! Patreon is a crowdfunding service that functions similarly to other CF services, except this one donors can contribute per month, or with comic books can
New to the Twitterverse?
Are you new to the twitterverse?
I've encountered a lot of people especially artists who join up on this social media site and then are clueless and dumbfounded as to what to do. After giving advice to numerous people and seeing my suggestions work I've decided to ink down my thoughts and experiences for the benefit of all.
First off a lot of people come in with the immediate assumption that twitter is completely useless (just like I did about a year ago) That premise is often why writers, artists, and businesses fail on this platform. Twitter is currently the closest we have to being PSYCHIC right now! That's right, its often a mash of unc
Sketch Cards
I've really enjoyed doing these sketchcards and always like to hear other peoples opinions of what they'd like to see; so... here it goes:
What popular character from any show, comic, game, or any other media I didn't mention would you like to see me do a sketchcard of?
Please let me know! I really wanna know!
